International Conference „Second-Hand World” (Rome)

On 7-8 May 2026, at the Accademia di Romania in Rome, the international conference „Second-Hand World. An interdisciplinary approach to recycling, reuse and resource optimization in ancient and traditional societies” took place. The event was organised by the Accademia di Romania in Rome, in collaboration with the University of Bucharest (through Alexandra Țârlea), under the patronage of the International Association for Classical Archaeology. The conference brought together participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey. Members of the Laboratory were present both as members of the scientific and organising committee and as speakers, presenting a paper on the reuse of materials in the Acropolis Centre-South Sector at Histria.
